First-timers, first workout free!

Have you ever started a new routine, program, or diet and then quit? If you answered yes to this question, you are not alone! Here are 7 tips to help you stay motivated.

1. Set goals

Set simple, realistic, and achievable goals and then progress to longer-range goals. It’s easy to give up if your goals seem unachievable.

2. Make it fun

Choose activities and classes that you enjoy, then change up your routine to keep it interesting. Here at ADAPT we offer a variety of classes & programs to suit everyone’s taste & to give you the option to change it up a little. Check out our classes HERE.

3. Make physical activity part of your daily routine

Finding time for exercise can be hard, but don’t fall back on excuses. Schedule your workouts as you would any other important activity!

4. Put it on paper

If you have specific goals like loosing weight, boosting energy or sleeping better – Write them down! Writing your goals down on paper may help you stay motivated.

5. Join forces with friends, neighbors, or others

You are not alone! Invite friends or coworkers to join you. Working out in a group setting has proven to be more motivating then working out alone. + You get a great dose of accountability!

6. Reward yourself

After each session, take a few minutes to enjoy the good feelings that exercise gives you. External rewards can help too! When you reach a longer-range goal, treat yourself to that new workout outfit or sneakers.

7. Be Flexible

If you’re too busy to work out or really don’t feel like it, be kind to yourself. Take a day or two off – the important thing is to get back on track as soon as you can.

Now that you’ve regained some enthusiasm it’s time to get moving! Set your goals and get ready to go! Bookmark this for any time you feel your motivation slipping.
